The Interfaith Support Coalition (ISC) strengthens recovery by connecting recovery residences, behavioral health providers, community organizations, workforce partners, and faith communities into a coordinated network that expands access to housing, recovery support, education, employment, and community reintegration for individuals and families.
What is the Interfaith Support Coalition (ISC)?

Faith communities remain valued partners by providing mentoring, volunteer engagement, family support, community education, and opportunities for social connection that reinforce long-term recovery.
ISC has completed its organizational foundation and is now executing a scalable regional recovery support model. With its first 100 participants already trained, ISC is demonstrating the capacity to strengthen recovery housing, expand collaborative partnerships, and build the coordinated infrastructure needed to improve recovery outcomes across Southern California. .
Empowerment for Recovery InitiativeWe need your help in our objective is to help participants leave recovery housing not only stronger in their recovery, but better prepared to manage their finances, maintain housing, and achieve greater economic independence. Many participants are returning to the workforce, managing regular income and expenses again, reconnecting with family responsibilities, or preparing to secure housing. Some may also have experienced homelessness or incarceration. These transitions create an important opportunity for financial education because everyday decisions about budgeting, banking, credit, debt, transportation, employment, and housing can directly affect a person’s ability to maintain stability. ISC expects to serve approximately 200 adults during the first 12 months, working through participating recovery residences across Los Angeles County. Priority will be given to residents from low- and moderate-income communities and individuals who have historically had limited access to practical financial education.ISC will collaborate with recovery residence operators, behavioral health providers, workforce organizations, financial education partners, faith communities, and other community organizations to create a coordinated pathway from recovery to greater financial independence.

Warren Spurlock is a nonprofit executive, behavioral health leader, and community strategist dedicated to building systems that strengthen recovery, housing stability, and community well-being. As the leader of the Interfaith Support Coalition (ISC), he brings together recovery housing providers, faith communities, behavioral health organizations, government agencies, and philanthropic partners to create sustainable pathways that help individuals and families overcome substance use disorders, mental health challenges, homelessness, and reentry barriers. His work focuses on developing practical training programs, cross-sector partnerships, and community infrastructure that expand access to supportive services while improving long-term recovery outcomes.
With a professional background spanning behavioral health, addiction recovery, program development, leadership, and nonprofit strategy, Warren is recognized for transforming innovative ideas into collaborative initiatives that produce measurable community impact. He is passionate about equipping organizations with the tools, partnerships, and resources needed to build stronger recovery ecosystems throughout Southern California and beyond. Guided by a belief that lasting change occurs when communities work together, Warren continues to champion solutions that unite faith, healthcare, public systems, and community organizations to create opportunities for hope, healing, and lasting transformation.
